Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of therapy do you provide?
I utilize strategies and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I employ an eclectic, holistic approach and will draw on other models as needed, or refer out when something is outside of my expertise.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Please contact me via e-mail with any questions or to schedule a brief, free, 15 minute phone consultation. You may also request an appointment here.
Will my health insurance cover therapy?
I am currently able to accept Aetna, United, Medicare Part B, and Cigna. Any other plans are considered out of network. I can provide you a monthly statement to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, depending on your plan and benefits.
How long will the process take?
Each person is unique, and every therapy journey is unique. Some people need a few sessions to help them process an specific event or to build skills for getting them through a difficult period of their life. Some people have long-standing issues they want to explore and understand, over time, how to integrate helpful behaviors into their lives. Families or couples may want specific strategies for recurring problems. We will work together to come up with a treatment plan that is right for you.
